What should I wear to my lyrical dance class?

I decided to take a lyrical dance class to get some exercise and try a new form of dancing. My understanding of this form of dance was that it is more modern. I have no idea what to wear. I was thinking of wearing a sports bra and sweatpants with tennis shoes, but I have no idea what is appropriate. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What should I wear to my lyrical dance class?
i would suggest a leotard, tights (cut below the knees, rolled up, or footless), and tight-fitting shorts or capris. it's more appropriate than a sports bra and sweatpants and shows that you are prepared and ready to take class. i would also suggest dance paws (a type of lyrical shoe), or jazz shoes if you don't have dance paws or foot thongs. if your teacher allows, then i would also suggest barefoot.
Reply:You want to wear something that you can move comfortably in. Sports bra and tank are good for the top. For the bottom you could year short shorts or tennis shoes or jazz split soles. See what the other girls are wearing and then wear that the next class.

Good Luck.
Reply:you could wear a number of things. i would recommend wearng a sports bra or tight fitting tank top with tights, any color, booty shorts and foot undies : http://www.edmundvangroningen.nl/media/f...

or something like it. or just go barefoot. have fun!!
Reply:there are lots of things
Reply:You could wear, A shorts bra, a leotard ( a black bathing suit made for dancers what is worn in all ballet classes) tights, exercise tight pants, shorts, a flowing dancers skirt etc.

Shoe wise you could use split sole dance shoes o ballet flats ( ballet slippers) or if you can dance like this bare foot some schools permit that too.

Whatever I mentioned above should make you feel comfortable while you are dancing and you won't be able to move as easy.

Note: Baggy Clothes will just keep you heavy while you dance.

Good luck and have fun !
Reply:a sports bra would be a great idea. lryrical consists of a lot of rib cage movement and it would be nice to be able to watch youself for bottoms i suggest bootie shorts or sophees and for NO TENNIS SHOES!! they have special lyrical sandals but if u dont feel like buying anything i would say go barefoot. i hope u enjoy your class
