I'm going to homecoming... but I can't dance!?

It's my freshman year and I'm going to homecoming this Saturday. I have the perfect dinner group, the perfect date, the perfect dress, the perfect shoes and jewelry, the perfect hair stylist, the perfect makeup ideas, but I don't know how to dance. At least, I've never been to a real dance so I don't think I know. I don't want to be stuck standing around because I don't want things to be awkward. What do I do?

Don't stress. Just move a little to the beat and you will be fine. If you try to overdo it with special dance moves, you will only look silly. Go ahead and turn on some music and dance in front of a mirror to get a little practice and see what moves look good. For slow dancing, there isn't anything too it. Just hold on to your date and both of you will move in a slow circle. There aren't any special steps. And remember that most of the people there are feeling the exact same way you are.

turn on the stereo in privacy and dance a little just to get the general idea of what you like to do.





At the actual dance, everybody else will also be worrying about not knowing how to dance.





for a real kick, make fun of your date's horrible dancing :-)

Reply:Practice with some friends... and if you still dont feel confindent.. then let the guy take the lead and you can see the others dancing and take mental notes.

Reply:Don't worry, no one really knows how to dance. Just pretend like you are dancing. Also, since you are going with a guy, just have the guy lead.
