Pointe Shoes?

okay so i really really really want Pointe shoes


my instructer said that if i keep working on making my ankles stronger than they are now i will be probably getting them soon.





any suggestions of how i can make my ankles stronger?


what type of pointe shoes are good.. and of course im not going to buy them until my dance teacher says im ready to.

Pointe Shoes?
Roll your ankles every time you are sitting down and that should get them strong very fast. My teacher told us to write the cursive alphabet with each foot, and that is good too! After a while of that, your ankles may get tired, but when they feel like that is when it is really important to keep going because they will strengthen faster when they are that tired. It is all worth it though! Good luck! : )
Reply:try getting a Thera Band (you can find it at dicount dance). do pointing and flexing exercises with or without it to strengthen your ankles. pointe shoes come in amazing varieties and it is best to have a professional fitter help you find the best pair for you. i have grishkos and they are perfect for me! different foot types require different qualities in the pointe shoes so it is hard to say which would be the best. also try finding a pre pointe class and do lots of plie releves!!

Reply:go up and down on the balls of your feet a lot.


pointing and felxing your feet also helps.
Reply:try going up and down in releve this will help your ankles and calves get stronger. Also try getting a rubber or plastic band I don't know the name of it but I've seen it in dance stores before this definitely helps you strengthen your ankles, by pointing your toes into it and pulling the plastic at the same time. Hope this helps.





P.S.- Pointe is beautiful and takes a lot of hardwork and practice so if you dont get it at first don't give up for many it takes at least a year to build up the strength to step away from the bar.
Reply:Doing reps of rises %26amp; echappes %26amp; pointing and flexing your feet will eventually strengthen them. Also try a TheraBand/ Elastaband.
Reply:do lots of relaveas with arch, point and flex ur feet, and use a flex band thingy or a sock, put ur toes in the middle of it holdig it with ur hands, and then pointe and flex ur feet.


i asked my teacher wat i should do in order 2 get toe shoes soon, but she just said that she'll hav 2 think about it and then said that i m really close...the way that she said it i think im gona get them soon. wat do u think???


and from my friends i heard that grishko r good 4 begginers..


and wen i get my toe sheos...i m gonna either get ouch pouches or the gell ones. :)

Reply:Do lots of releves making sure you don't sickle your feet because that will help you get on the box of your shoes when you get them. You should also get a Theraband and do exercises with that every day.
Reply:um i dont suggest getting pointe shoes becaus it totally tears up your toes but if thats what you want go for it
