What to do at a casual school dance (and wear)?

my school is having a school dance that is supposed to be formal. guys are to wear jeans, a collar shirt (not buttoned down.) and good shoes. what type of shirt should i wear? shoes? because gyms shoes are prohibitted and dress shoes look wierd. what would you wear?


also, what should ido about not being able to dance?

What to do at a casual school dance (and wear)?
Go to somewhere like Banana Republic and get a collared shirt with a pattern on it. Make sure it is NOT an oxford shirt or a polo shirt. Pair it with black jeans. Skip the tie. Wear black shoes that are "dress" but funky. The best kind for this is like Sketchers or something.


Anyone can dance.


Stand straight, step to the right, then step together


Step to the left, then step together. Just do the back and forth (subtle and cool, NOT like oh, look at me) to the rhythm with a little head nod and arms moving. Practice in front of the mirror. Step together, step together, etcetera. That is your first basic dance step.


To do this with a girl, put your arms around her waist, and do the step together, step together back and forth while looking at her and talking a little bit.


Just relax, chill out

Then wear a sweater or some nice looking shirt like from american eagle. Hope that helps somewhat. Then don't worry about not being able to dance just hang with your friends and have fun... not everyone can dance.

Reply:Well, my school has casual dances all of the time. I usually wear a cute baby doll top and ballet flats. Usually, the guys at my school wear football jerseys or cute buttoned- down tops. For shoes, I would wear a pair of vans. But, my school sounds a little bit more casual then yours, your pick. Also, its okay if you can't dance because most of the time people (at least the guys) hang out with their friends and drink coke. But, really the couples are the only one dancing.
