I'm wearing a ballgown style dress for my wedding. I'm thinking that no one is going to see my feet because of the dress. I'm not a heal wearer and prefer to wear comfortable shoes and enjoy my wedding by dancing the night away.
Should I wear ballerina shoes (actual ballerina shoes, not flats) for my wedding. Has anyone worn them? If so, how comfortable are they (I heard that they have a seam that lands on the bottom of your foot? Where can I get some.
Wedding Shoes?
Congrats on the engagement! im getting married next june. i am wearing just white flip flops from wal-mart, i am 6 feet tall, and my fiance is prolly 5'9 or 5'10, so haha im not going to wear heals.. and whose honestly looking at your shoes, ur the one whos going to be in them all day, and dancing all night anyway.. WEOO flipflops!! so comfy!
Reply:Hello and congrats :) I'm getting married in July and have the same issues. I'm really short and i'm wearing a ballgown and the thought of heels were not appealing to me. I'm kind of clumsy so I ordered dyeable ballerina style flats that lace up the ankles.
They're adorable and super super cute! They didn't cost an arm and a leg either (they were less than 40) and I can wear them again. If you want, you can wear them white to the wedding, then afterward dye them another color to wear over and over again.
Try these, this is what I ordered :)

Hope that works, congrats :)
Reply:The seam doesn't land down the center of your foot it goes around the outside edge. You can get them at any dance/ballet store. I wouldn't recommend them for an all day event because there's no arch support at all in them. They are perfectly flat and not the most comfortable for long periods of time. What I did was I got a pair of canvas tennis shoes that had the lace woven in and out around the top of the ankle. I put some lace that matched my dress on the toes, the outside edge and the heel and had our shoemaker cover the soles with leather so they would be easy to dance in. They were super comfortable and I loved them.

Reply:I have worn them and I think you'd be more comfortable with flats. The bottomsaren't hard enough for you to walk around all day in. In all actuality, you'd probably be happy wearing flats until you get to the reception, then you could change into a softer shoe.

Reply:I have had friends who wore them for their wedding. Worked out great for them. Bridal shops will have them, but expensive there. I would look at other shoe stores.
Reply:Do whatever is most comfortable for you! I would think ballet slippers would be very pretty, but uncomfortable!
Maybe just a pair of really comfy flip flops or you can bring small slippers to the reception and just slip into them when your dancing!
Reply:My aunt wore flip flops to her wedding and all the bridesmaids, thank goodness cause I cant be in heels for longer then 5 min.s
Reply:flats wouldent ballerina shoes hurt you in a while
Reply:They are very comforatable. So if you don't want to wear high heel shoes I understand because who would wan to dance on their wedding night and be uncomfortable?!? I know I wouldn't. So wear the ballerina shoes. Just make sure they are the right size because if they are too small they are VERY uncomfortable.
Reply:I've seen some inexpensive ones at Wal-Mart and Payless.
Reply:There are a ton of sites that sell ballerina shoes for brides. Here are some links for you.

Reply:My dress completely covered my shoes too. You couldn't see them unless I pulled the dress up and showed them to you! Our wedding was in January so going without shoes was not an option! I decided to wear crocs! At the end of the wedding, I told my husband and he just had to see... and laughed! He thought it was great. Later on he told my mom and they made me show them... everyone laughed and thought it was awesome. My mom took the only picture that we have showing my shoes... and wouldn't you know that is her favorite one... the one that is blown up and on top of the TV! Oh well, my feet were warm and dry... but most of all comfortable!
Reply:first congrats also I have been in many weddings, what I always tell my friends when they are planning their wedding........... "It's your wedding, do what you want there is no real set of rules" It is your day enjoy it
Reply:i think that's a very good idea I've heard of brides that are wearing them
Reply:I would not recommend ballerina slippers because they do not have a tough sole and they offer so little support. Ballerina slippers are comfy to wear around the house (like on carpet) but you wouldn't want to wear them outside and your feet would ache after standing on them for hours. I would wear 'ballerina styled' flats, which have a thicker sole and a bit of arch support.
Reply:I had a friend who wore white silk Doctor Martens - no one knew, she was happy and there was one dress lifting amazing picture....................
