http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref...

here's a pic of me:

one more:

i'm open to all suggestions. but i don't want the shoes to be too tall. i want to comfortable. thanks in advance!!

p.s. if you don't think the dress is good, please give links to a better one!

Help with Valentine's dance outfit?
I think that dress is very classy.

I also think its awesome that your aware of your age and aren't dressing to promiscous. Not many girls I know dress their age. Good on you!

For Shoes go with a kitten heal, if you wear flats it will make your legs look stubby. If its closed toe they wont be to unconfortable.

You can always take them off!

For your hair you can curl pieces of it and bobby pin them.

It looks elegant but its easy.

Have fun at your dance!
Reply:the dress would be cute on you...in my opinon but go with a black flat just a simple black flat.

http://miscellaneousimages1.colony1.net/... Like that

For jewelry go with fake diamonds or black pendant or something...

Like:

or

And for make up go with a smoky eye or natural look:

or

http://www.celeblook.com/wp-content/uplo...

Hope this works. have fun!

P.s. I don't think the black flat will make you look short or anything. This is a semi-foirmal or I think the dress is good don't go all way with a heel.

Dress shoes help?

I have a dance next week and my dress is like a white color, but its not completely white its like a creamy white and i cant figure out what kind of shoes to wear with it, i have a pair of shoes that have gems that like are a diamond with a across the foot but i dont know if thats gonna look bad?

Dress shoes help?
By the way, the shoes you said you have sound like they could get good with it....but here are some examples of shoes you can look for that would go good with a creamy white dress:

http://www.like.com/buy?id=b7c07facea2d5...

This one has a bit of a platform on the bottom, so if your dress is really long, these would be great so your dress doesn't drag on the floor, and so you don't trip on your dress as easily....they are also easier to walk in. This color would also go really well with a creamy white.

http://www.like.com/buy?id=955eaa8b35164...

These would be cute if your dress isn't extremly long. The jewels on it would be a great accent. Straps are always elegant.

http://www.like.com/buy?id=bdddfba9d636e...

And if you are still worried about a color to match your dress, go for a shoe like these, it wil look like you have diamonds as straps! Very cute!

Oh, and DO NOT wear black shoes, it will look out of place and very tacky! Even a darker silver might be too much! Keep it light!
Reply:http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?lis... would look nice or the ones you described as long as the bone/cream tone matched on the shoes (to the dress)
Reply:um black soes yhen add black chnky jewelery 2 it

Elevator shoes with a lift for men?

Where can I find "elevator" dress shoes with a "lift"? Do you know any physical stores I can go to?

Have any of you tried online stores with a good result? I was recommended a couple online stores.

If you have tried them, how long does it take to get used to them? I'm going to have to dance at my wedding!

How many inches did you actually get?

Should i get them in bigger size or does the site already ship the shoes with a lift-insert in your own size?

I bought some of them

Cleaning tap shoes?

ok, this is what i have been doing so far to clean the plates of my tap shoes:

1. i wipe the plates off with vinegar, water, or clorox wipes.

2. i sand the plates doown to get all the jagged edges off

3. i apply a coat of clear nail polish to fill in all the gaps and scuffs and scratches

i dance in my garage, i don't have access to a real studio, so yeah, that's why my shoes are always scratched up so badly.

is this a good way to take care of them??

Cleaning tap shoes?
i dont think using vinegar is good.

its wear down the taps faster.

same with sanding.

Shoes for a School Event?

Ok I need black shoes for a school program. The have to be comfortable but still cute. Last year I had knee high boots, and no one had them. So this year I need something that is just as spectacular. I also have to do a dance in them, but the height I don't care about as long as they're cute.

Shoes for a School Event?
i would wear either a black strappy sandal with a low heel or a cute pair of black flats. it really depends on the occasion and what the rest of your outfit is. good luck!

What to wear to this dance??

The dance flyer says "dressy-attire suggested" but its not noted as semi-formal...so less than semi formal. I'm not wearing a dress...but what could I wear? Jeans and a cute tank top I was thinking with heels (which get taken off almost immediately anyways...the shoes) BUT the tank top is like summery kinda, would it work in a dark dance room??? HELP!!!!!!!!!

What to wear to this dance??
I definitely like the ideas of jeans with heals. Maybe go for a dark denim so that they're a little bit more dressy.

If you have the body shape for it (which if you do, you're lucky - I don't LoL), try a pair of skinny jeans with the heels.

A summery tank top would look good - just make sure it's a little flowy, especially if you go with the skinny jeans.

Try not to ever combine tight pants with a tight top - it rarely ever looks good, and not many people can pull it off.

Good luck, and have fun :)

Why When I ask a Girl to dance with me in the club they front and say no?

I just turn 21 this just, My 4th time going to the club.((Club Avalon NYC))

No Lie dude, I'm alway the best dresser in clubs,,,Yesterday I went With a Gucci Tuxedo, nice botton down under it, nice jean and shoes all fit perfect my size, but thoses girl rather go for guys with fake Chains, Fake Watches, Sun Shades at night...

I'm a good dresser, I'm 6.5, Smart, cool, But I down Understand to Some of thoses girls didn't to dance with me...( I did dance with girl though) ...I just wanted to dance, I wouldn't date some of thoses Girls I asked to dance with me If I was pay to, But They still fronted. I done with clubbs . I had fun made like 5 new friends 4 hot girl and a boy I chilled with.

Why When I ask a Girl to dance with me in the club they front and say no?
its all you....

Go out to have a good time ... and while enjoying yourself, your happy energy will make more girls dance with you...

BTW... how can a guy at 6'5 be a good dancer? b/c, lets face it, any guy that is taller that 6 makes an akward dance partner......
Reply:It could be body language and confidence. Clothes are only part of it. If you come off like a wuss, no dance for you.
Reply:Maybe you come off as being way too arogant and full of yourself...just a thought
Reply:you need to approach them right
Reply:what is your attitude??? seriously????

maybe you are coming across as too stuck up or too nice..... LOL ... but it may be true --- why not singling out a girl near the bar and bay her a drink and chat her up and then ask her to dance???? don't be overbearing and don't come across as better than all the other guys!

Good Luck!
Reply:that's the problem you are going too the club.

go some where were your style will be

noticed %26amp; apperciated. girls in the club

are not really looking for a life long partner.

go to the book store. remeber what u put in

u get out. u go to the club u might meet a one

night stand. go to the book store good conversation.
Reply:They're all "fronting"?...maybe you're fooling yourself.
Reply:Well, maybe it takes more than clothes to get a girl interested...why if she doesn't want you, must she be frontin'?
Reply:They just aren't into you. By your own description is sounds like you're so in love with yourself, maybe they can tell that there's no room for them in your world of "ME ME ME!"
Reply:lol...maybe you came on abit too strong like "hey wanna dance?"...ask her for a drink, chat, then ask her if she wants to dance and dont look worried or weird just act calm lol
Reply:maybe you're just ugly. or maybe you're too arrogant. sounds like it. plus, you probably didn't say it in correct english, considering that your grammar is terrible.

What shoes are suitable to wear to a club?

It's gonna be my first time clubbing and I'm having difficulty choosing what shoes to match my outfit..jeans + sleeveless blouse! I'm afraid that heels will kill me on the dance floor. What's suitable? Thanks

What shoes are suitable to wear to a club?
[black] chuck taylors. you can pair them up with almost anything, and jeans - yes. if you're that casual kind of person. but if you're going for the dressy look, what about some wedges? and yes, heels will kill you when you're dancing hard out on the dance floor with them on your feet. you'd be silly to do that.
Reply:Boots, Boots, Boots.
Reply:long boots over ur jeans. they r comfortable and cute.
Reply:Whenever I go clubbing I wear a sexy top, jeans and fun flats because they're kinda dressy but still comfortable while I boogie. Steve Madden has some really great peek-toe flats that I particularly love.
Reply:try wedges there not as bad as heels and still sexy
Reply:It depends on what time of club you are going to and what your intentions are. Highly selective night clubs are generally looking for fashionable people. This atmosphere stresses fashion over function, so a popular designer or style is common. If your destination is more a club and crowd that focuses on the music your shoes may not be the focal point so might not matter. Some crowds are very forgiving when it comes to how people dress so most anything goes. So consider the venue and the general feel of the place (laid-back, fashionable crowd, urban, small town, etc.)

Also consider your intentions. Are you going their to dance? Then wear something comfortable that you can dance in like smaller heels, flats maybe even gym shoes. Are you dressing to impress then maybe you have shoes that fit your personality (bright and loud maybe) or something unassuming like black heels. Jeans can be dressed up or dressed down figure out your angle and you'll figure it out.

If all fails black heels will never do you wrong.
Reply:Wear the heels the high and pointy'er the better, if your feet hurt take 'em off, just keep an eye on them though!!!
Reply:If you wanna wear nice shoes, wear'em, then take them off to dance (if you can...) if not...wear lower heels (2")...like flats...wear them, they usually go with everything, won't killl your feet and you can dance in them...

What should I wear to the school dance? [pictures included]?

What should I wear to a VERY informal school dance?

I am not going to the mall between now and next friday [the day of the dances] so please pick from the following picture:

http://i12.tinypic.com/7294bvo.jpg

I need earrings, shoes, pants, and a shirt.

[[Catherine]]

p.s. it gets really warm as soon as you step into the dance room so please pick the least-warm clothing. And if nothing here suits you, describe or post pictures of something that would look good [as I didn't post nearly all of my clothing online]

What should I wear to the school dance? [pictures included]?
of those,

i'd pick the darker pair of jeans, the pink top, the coach footwear %26amp; the diamond studs.
Reply:I'm gonna go with:

-red tank and (hypathetical) if you spill soda on it or your dog eats it just like last nights homework, wear the cream Hollister t-shirt

-darker jeans or denim mini skirt

-blue flip-flops

-hoop earrings or any other earrings u have
Reply:pink tank with the black skirt and flip flops

and the hoop earrings
Reply:Wear the darker jeans, the red tank over the oatmeal-colored tee, the hoop or Chanel earrings, and the light tan Ugg boots. I think that would be really cute!!! (If you think it'll be too warm with a tee AND a tank, then just go for the tank.) A cute gold charm bracelet or something similar would be a cute addition. Goodluck!!! Have fun dancing the night away!!! toodleoo.
Reply:go with the darker pair of jeans, the pink top, the coach footwear %26amp; the diamond studs.
Reply:dark pair of jeans, simple flats and a fun top, maybe not from hollister? wear the studs, and maybe you should put your hair in a casual but nice updo since it's always so hot.
Reply:the darker jeans, the coach flats, the pink tank, the hollister shirt with the pink writing, and the chanel earrings
Reply:i'd pick the darker pair of jeans, the pink top, the uggs footwear %26amp;%26amp; the diamond studs.
Reply:denim skirt, red top, coach flats, and the diamond studs.

i loveee those shoes!
Reply:I like the darker jeans or the dark jean shorts (or skirt it's hard to tell) The red tank and the stripped flat shoes and diamond studs.
Reply:dark jeans, blue tank top, flip flops, diamond stud earrings.

New tap shoes Problem?

I just bought my first pair of tap shoes. They are Capezio with a full sole and teletone taps...They are really hard to dance in! Besides the heel, the main thing is that they are very slick so I slide instead of making a clear "tap" sound. Do they just need breaking in or is there something I can do to change this? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

New tap shoes Problem?
eww. I hate when that happens! I would break them in, for the slickness, do shuffles on concrete to put some texture on the bottom. It will help you not slip as much
Reply:yeah you just have to let them break in and they should fit eaither that or they are too big
Reply:Give them time to break in. Tap shoes, and especially ballet shoes are uncomfortable.
Reply:Try breaking them in. Just stand there and shuffle for a while to get the taps warm. You need to build some friction, so very gently scrape the tap along the concrete, just a little though! This will roughen up the tap and make it less smooth. Or you can just where them around your house for a couple of hours. Just keep tappin and it will get easier. I've had the same prob before and it takes awhile. I hope I helped!

Reply:Just go to some stores and ask the person that work there what u want and ask them can they help u. if u don't like what they give u go to another store.
Reply:Wear a red flowy dress with like black leggings. Casual always works. Wear black wedges.
Reply:First and Foremost!!! Be yourself. If YOU like it, wear it. It does not matter at all what anyone else thinks.

Next, try thrift stores. I can go into one and come out with an entire outfit including accessories and a purse for less than $15.

The 80s means bright colors, off the shoulder sweaters-you can make any sweater 80s by simply cutting across the neckline so it will hang of your shoulders with a nice bright tank underneath.

Tights! Capri tights are everywhere. Try that with your big off the shoulder sweater. Lace on the bottom will make it even better.

I don't know exactly how 80s you want to get, but if you find yourself a banana clip and get some Aqua Net and tease your banana clip ponytail to the sky, you'll have a very retro, very easy 80s hairstyle.

Anything bright, gaudy and colorful from a secondhand store should satisfy your 80s desires. They'll have lots of puffy satin dresses, acid washed jeans, and the like.

There's always racks and racks full of all kinds of dresses, lots which really are from the eighties.

As far as shoes go, the 80s were big on flats, kind of like now, so that should be easy. Especially the ones with the bow on them. My mom also owned a pair plastic pumps in every color of the rainbow. Oh, and there's jellies. Jellies are hot.

Just have fun and follow your own personal fashion instincts, and you will look great!
Reply:First of all, you don't have to lose the glasses. Glasses are cute! :)

ok, anyway....if I were you then I would probably get like a short-ish light colored dress. Mabey like a peach colored dress, or a bright red dress. I think peach colored would be better though. You should put you hair up or something, idk. And I dont think you should were a lot of make-up. Only a little bit, like blush or lip-gloss or something. Well, thats about all I can think about. Hope it helps.
Reply:Step 1 - lose the glasses. Guys don't make passes at girls who wear glasses.

Semi-formal dance attire?

My son is in 7th grade and is going to a dance Friday. It's a semi-formal. I am thinking about khaki pants and a white button down shirt with small pin stripes in it with a black tie. He has black shoes but he wants to wear his sneakers which are all black and sort of look dressy. Do you think that is appropriate clothing for a semi-formal school dance? I was concerned about a striped shirt with a solid tie. I wasn't sure if it's bad taste to do striped shirt with solid tie. I usually see a solid shirt with striped tie.

Semi-formal dance attire?
I think it sounds great! He's going to look handsome. Let him wear the sneakers - lets a little bit of the real him shine through! Have fun to him... ♥
Reply:I personally think that the Khaki and white doesn't sound too "semi-formal." Go for a darker shade pant like gray, pin-stripe, or black, and a vibrant shirt and striped tie. Make your son look like a star! =)
Reply:semi- formal usually means sunday dress. suit and tie but i think i would leave off the sneakers and go with the black shoes.
Reply:Everything you have picked out sounds fine, I think a full suit would be a little overly formal. But, let the boy wear his sneakers, they aren't going to kick him out of the dance for it, and they will be way more comfortable to dance in than the dress shoes.
Reply:If the ticket says button down shirt and tie then that is all he should wear :-)

How can girls wear certain kinds of shoes? I love how pumps look but they hurt!?

My sister bought me these pair of pumps that i was drooling over but I put them on and I was able to walk in them but as soon as my foot got a tiny bit sweaty, my foot was smushed to the front and I couldnt walk in them any more. I figured maybe they were too big but the tip of barely fit in the back. then I tried a pair of open toe pumps and the same thing happend, as soon as my foot got a little sweaty (which is going to happen when i dance) my toes were trying to break the the front hole. I love shoes but I cant wear them. how do you guys do it?

How can girls wear certain kinds of shoes? I love how pumps look but they hurt!?
One thing that makes a huge difference for me is a little squishy pad at the toes. It keeps my toes from sliding deeper in and getting crunched (I know exactly what you're talking about) and the extra bit of padding makes them comfy for much longer.
Reply:here's a small tip for wear high heels:

tape the toe next to your big toe to the toe next to it
Reply:Footpetals, like someone mentioned. Or wear any kind of tights, they'll help with the sliding and the comfort.
Reply:i put potatoes in mine and leave them over night...
Reply:get dr.schools. if you dont have flat feet, that is the best.
Reply:You can buy some Footpetals. You just stick them on your shoe underneath your sole to prevent your foot from sliding. They work!
Reply:i think buying more expensive ones...they are better. but i wouldnt knwo for sure. you should try them on at the store...or jsut wait for them to breeak in..i wish iwas old enough to wear pumps..id wear em every single freakin day..well probably not..but a majority.

Im a dance teacher?

I am a dance teacher and i dance and teach 24\7 and it is getting very hard for me to keep up. I am just wondering if i sould keep doing it or if there are people in my shoes that understand this.

Im a dance teacher?
I'm not a dance teacher but I am an assistant. Coming from the assistant side look at all the kids learing and improving!! Isn't it the coolest feeling when you hear a kid said "I got it!" Knowing that you taught them that!! Just forget about all the stress and the tiredness that it brings. Yes I know it brings a lot of stress and sometimes you just can't take it anymore! But think beyond that and think of all those kids that you have touched and are continuing to touch. Just seeing the smile on their faces when they master a step makes me want to come again and teach them some more.

Coming from the student side, since I am both an assistant and a student, if it weren't for our teachers then we wouldn't be where we are. Yes the kids might be hard sometimes but in the end when we haved learned a dance we thank our teachers beacuse all of the hard work that went into the dance! You should continue to teach and dance. Any kind of teacher I think has the best job in the world! You can look back on kids and know inside that you taught them to do that! Don't give up! It will be worth!

Maybe in the summer monthes you could take a little break or even drop a class that you teach.

Just don't give up teaching or dancing!

Dance till the stars come down from the rafters.

Dance, dance, dance – till you drop.

~ (Wystan Hugh) W. H. Aude

Remember~ "You can dance anywhere, even if only in your heart." ~Unknown
Reply:Yeah I know exactly how you feel, it's like "I need a break" and people are all up in your face criticizing you, telling you what they think you need to improve, or telling you the way or style of dance you should do it really gets to your head, I know how you feel it gets stressful but nobody said it'll be easy that's one thing I know because if it was..everybody! would do it and I mean EVERYBODY! Just keep your head up, and stay in the game you should keep doing it, because when you feed into what they're saying they win! But like the girl above me said and which is true and I forgot to mention it's for fun..Don't dance because it's impressive or what not do it for yourself before you think of others because dance is 100% from the heart you can be a good dancer with out 100% heart but that wouldn't compare to a great dancer who loves dance!

Good Luck%26lt;33
Reply:you shouldnt be teaching 24/7 then..anyways.....how you doin?
Reply:well dancing teacher is hard to keep up but as long as you have fun doing it and do the best you can i am 13 and if it weren't for fun and well dancing is kinda my life i have fun doing it and meating other people who have the same hobby !!!

i have Suffolk brand pointe shoes. They hurt like CRAZY! I know that pointe is supposed to hurt, but these hurt unnaturally. Whenever i wear them for a class, the balls of my feet feel like they're on fire. My dance instructor suggested that maybe they're too big, but she looked at them, and they are actually too small. That still doesn't explain the pain, though, because the pain wasn't where the pointe shoes were getting too small. I'm getting new ones, but i'd like to know what was causing the pain in the ball of my foot. Also, i'd like it if someone could reccomend a different company, so that I can try a new company.

thanks!

Weird pointe shoes?
If the ball of your foot is hurting or burning, it can mean that the height of the box and vamp aren't right for your foot, and just because of the size difference, there's probably a lot of friction.

I personally DETEST suffolk shoes, they're ridiculously uncomfortable and no matter what pad you use (hey,I'm old, I can be a wussy now!) I can always feel the floor too much. You're right, "unnatural" is the word for it. They're available in nine widths so its hard to suggest one because I don't know what you have, however, based on the shape and the changes in box you seem to need, I would suggest at least trying on a bloch sonata and a grishko 2007 if you have nice arches. Good luck!
Reply:... weird. I'm not sure what could be causing pain in the ball of your foot....

For the short time I was on pointe(I quit dance to pursue music... bad idea....) I wore Capezio shoes. They worked fine for me... I don't know what model or anything though. Ask a sales person at the store I suppose.
Reply:Suffolk is a weird brand. Freed is made nearly the same way so stay away.

I love Grishko. My friend loves Bloch. Try those.

Good luck
Reply:You need to find a good pointe shoe that fits your foot like a glove. Have you seen Harry Potter? (the first one) where they are finding his wand and each other fits a certain wizard? Well its just like that, you need to try shoes until you find a great one. When you go to the dance store make sure that the person helping you is certified or trained in fitting pointe shoes- you can ruin your feet forever by having the wrong ones.
Reply:if your pointe shoes are causing the balls of your feet to hurt, it could mean that your arches are very low. i remember when i was new to pointe [even though i had a perfect shoe..which is rare] the balls of my feet hurt every time i went on pointe because the shoe wasnt broken in all the way and i had a low arch so it was being pushed over to get over the shoe properly. as with the brand to recommend, i cant really say because certain types of shoes are catered to different types of feet. although i would recommend freed of londons or grishkos. you might also was a gel pad to go over your feet to make it less painful.
Reply:I would recommend that you go to a good dance store where they fit you with pointe shoes, and try on ALOT of different shoes till find some you like. I think some pain in the ball is to be expected after dancing for alittle while, I don't know for sure though.

Shoes for a red dress?

i have a dance coming up and i recently bought a gorgeous red babydoll halter dress by Nightway but now i need shoes to go with it, any ideas? I dont want to do black a red and im trying to stay away from doing red with red, i was thinking some strappy heels that are more of a champagne color but i need suggestions....

i dont want to spend too much because the dress was like $170 so $40 tops

Shoes for a red dress?
Hi, I had the same problem and finally decided on some this past weekend. I have a military ball to go to and needed shoes for a red dress that I found (cheap!) at Ross. I really wanted to get some gorgeous champagne colored heels I found at Shoe Carnival for $19 but I need a shawl too and couldn't find one to match. I decided to go w/ silver (silver shawl, jewelry and purse too) and it looks great together. I found the shoes at Marshall's for $24.99 (they had the same pair at Dillard's and Macy's for $49). I think champagne would be great and silver would also be good. If you can find the perfect pair of red, then red w/ red would look good but that's up to you. I agree on the black though, no black w/ red. I think you will have luck b/c a lot of places seem to have sales going on right now to get rid of their end of season stock and bring in the spring shoes. Have a great time %26amp; good luck!
Reply:silver or gold strappy heels would go great.more fun than black, and better than red with red.
Reply:neutral.. like a skin tone.. champagne, beige, even gold.

You could also go silver.. that is a neutral.

Good luck and have fun.
Reply:Maybe silver shoes? I really think black heels with black jewelry would be your best bet!! Good Luck!
Reply:I would go with a gold strappy heel.
Reply:silvery coloured shoes look really good with red
Reply:Champagne would be a good, neutral color and could be worn with other outfits.
Reply:Silver colored shoes but whatever you do DONT wear balck shoes!!!!!
Reply:with red you could either go with gold shoes and gold accessories or go with silver. i would probably go with gold though.
Reply:I would wear black patent heels. They're fun but kind of high. BTW, They are only 20 bucks
Reply:Try a metallic strappy shoe like this one...

Reply:As for colors I would go with:

1.Silver or gold

2.Black would look cute too but u don't want black

3.Or some of the clear(i think it's called lucite) shoes... the plasticy clear lookin ones
Reply:Some Jimmy Choo golden high-heeled pumps..I think they'd look absolutely gorgeous...
Reply:how about silver shoes with a silver purse.
Reply:gold shoes would look real nice, try bakers or macy's
Reply:How about strappy gold sandals? Look at Zappos.com for ideas in a good price range.
Reply:I like the champange color idea. It seems like it would work well, Here are some links to afforadable shoes, however some may not have the exact champagne color you may want, but i hope this helps!!!!

Reply:Clearasel it works in 3 days. (At least for me it does!)
Reply:I'm a guy, my suggestion for your shoes' color are pink if you are a sexy, active girl; pink if you are a cool and calm "lady"; green if you are a environmentalist; white if you are very quite and grace.

For you purse, I don't know, because I'm teen too, and my school do not alow purses during dances, so I have no idea about purses. But for make ups, I as a teen guy would suggest very light make ups, some light perfume would be perfect.

All the suggestion are in my own opinion, I personally like to go out with girls, but what really matters is wether the guy really likes you, and are your feelings true love?

It some times depends.

My suggestion for every one: BE YOURSELF, BE POSITIVE, and BE MY FRIEND!

P.S. Anout you face, clean it with some face cream and wash it off with some water soaked with flower like roses after you wash it by some washing face lotion thingy! You will be as perfect as the rose you use! Believe in yourself!

oh btw, the dress code is semi-formal. thanks so much!

1st one- alot better. 2nd one is too old looking
Reply:I think the second dress (one you want to wear instead) is better.... I think it will suit you more, and looks so much better! I would prefer it if a girl wore that than the 1st one.

Hope I helped!
Reply:The first one but in a diff color. black is not exactly for 14 yo. unless ur trying to look grown up.

Ur dress looks too formal ( i mean with the beading things...)

if you are planning to get a new dress anyways, try getting high waisted or empire cut dresses. its the hippest thing today. strappy sandal would do it
Reply:Dress #1 is better. Maybe in a differnt colopr though.Perhaps white? The scond one i don't like at all.

What type of pointe shoes should i get!!! HELP!!?

Okay, let me start out by saying i am 13 and on my second year of pointe.

My dance teacher over the past couple classes has made comments to me like: wow look at those arches and you are going to massacre your pointe shoes. Most kids in my class ride the back of their pointe shoes. But my arches look more like

http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/im...

my question is: What type of pointe shoes should i get? Do i need a hard shank like russian pointe or grichkos??

I have chacotts now %26amp; after a few classes they r worn out!!

What type of pointe shoes should i get!!! HELP!!?
No offense but those are not good arches at all. Plus the only reason your Chacotts are getting worn out is because they are really soft and not durable at all. No offense again but I think you made the thing up about your teacher saying that because your arches are barely even arches if they look relatively like that. Go get professionally fitted.

p.s. I looked at your other posts, the arches still are not good
Reply:I DO LYRICAL DANCING YOU SHOULD TRY FOOT UNDEEZ [thats what we use]...[underwear for your feet] the kinda look weird but they help n they cover half of your foot...

here an image...

http://www.magiccitycostumes.com/images/...

they are all different colors becuase you have to match your skin tone... good luck =]
Reply:If that's your foot, you have a beautiful arch.

People with higher arches usually go through shoes faster.

I suggest Grishko. I use them and I love them a lot. You may want to try a hard shank too. It'll take forever to break in, but will last a lot longer. Try Grishko 2007 to see if you like them.

Good Luck
Reply:First off, Chacotts are extremely soft shoes. The feet in that picture aren't arched anything special, but I know you've mentioned your teacher's comments in a couple of posts, so I'm assuming yours are nicer than that. That said, a lot of what goes into choosing a shoe will depend on the shape of your foot. If a chacott fit nicely, a bloch serenade has a similar shape, but a harder shank. Grishkos 2007s have a decently hard shank, but they tend to run a bit narrow, which may not suit your foot. If you do try them onand the shape if off but you like the shank, you may be interested in a grishko elite or foutte. Someone may suggest a gaynor minden for you,but they're hard for someone with beautiful arches to stay on top of, theyre really soft and the drawstring is akwardly placed.
Reply:I wear Gaynor Minden pointe shoes.

You can totally customize them, and also there's virtually no breaking them in, you heat them up with a hairdryer and bend the arch to your liking. I'm horrible about over-arching my shoes (I have freak-feet that bend at almost a 90 degree angle), so if they get over-arched, just heat them up again with the hairdryer and take some of the arch out!

High School Dance TEam Auditions?

I know this question is asked A LOT, but i need help and advice. I have taken 1 year of jazz, 1 year of tap, and 8 years of ballet. I love dancing, and I want more experience. Somone suggeted trying out for our dance team once i get to highschool. To, me this sounds fun. Even if don't make it, i still will have a new experience. What sould I bring to the try outs and what should I expect? Will jazz shoes work best? What is the best kind of clothing to wear? Thanks SO much. I hope my question isn't confusing!

High School Dance TEam Auditions?
You experience in dance will help you a lot. Your ballet background should give you the technique to be able to pull through. However, most high school dance teams participate in jazz/funk which isn't really as elegant or structured as ballet is. That might be a significant difference you see. Try-outs usually consist of warm-ups. They want to give you a feel of what you should expect when you really are on the team. Then you'll probably learn a combination and a routine. Combinations and progressions really allow them to see where you are technique wise. The routine can be a few counts of 8, probably around 1:00-1:30 long. They sometimes might move fast to see how well you can pick up choregraphy. As for what to bring, bring your A game. If a dancer has confidence, you can really tell and it makes you stand out. They'll see that in you. I wear Bloch Black Jazz shoes and they are wonderful, but you might want to see if your school requires a certain brand or type. Clothing is usual dance attire. Leotards, tights, and hair pulled back, but you also want to wear something that is comfortable and allows you to move. Good luck, I hope this helped!
Reply:What to wear:

Wear Jazz shoes, but bring all of your shoes just in case. You could wear a leotard and shorts, or jazz pants. I suggest you don't wear a tshirt as they may not be able to see your body working properly.

What to expect:

In your addition they would have prepared a routine and you basically have to perform it. You will probably have to perform it in small groups. I suggest while learning it, get a spot right near the center front-trust me, learning stuff at the back is horrible!

I hope this answers your questions-and good luck!
Reply:You should wear something cute over tights and leotard, incase they want you to take off the cute over clothes and wear tights and leotard. Wear fun colors so you stand out. I used to coach HS dance team, so I know it's a great way to meet people and become "popular". Go for it!

How do I prepare myself for pointe shoes???

I am a very expierenced dancer. I have been taking Ballet for 8 years. My instructor said I would be going on in the fall but...we have a Summer Dance Camp and you could move up a level or go on pointe shoes quicker. I have 2 weeks to get my self ready how can I get more arch in my foot? How will I get better allignment? Cuz I sooooo badly want to get on. I know there are some expierenced dancers out there and I really need all the help I can get!!!!!!!!!

How do I prepare myself for pointe shoes???
For help with increasing the arch of the foot - you can start with some easy stretches for the top of the foot and in the arch. The top of the point - stand - with one foot point your moot down and use the floor to help push your foot over into more of an arch (do on both feet) Also when sitting down, pointe your foot and pull with your hands to arch your arch more - it is also beneficial to have someone else do this to give it a real stretch.

Point is not all in your foot but in your ankles too. If your ankles tend to be weak - try and strengthen them by doing a plie down in second position then while your down roll your foot up in to a demi pointe (so you are really stretching your arch) and while staying on demi point raise up out of the plie so you are know in second position in releve. Then reverse, come down into a plie still on demi pointe, roll your heels back down on to the floor and then raise back up out of the plie. That is really good for your ankle strengthening, also can be down in first position. Also make sure you do many releves in demi point on one foot and then switch to the other. You will be having to do these same releves onto point so better to strebthen your calves and legs now. By doing this facing the bar you can also watch your turnout and alignment which are very imprortant on pointe.

Other words of caution when beginning pointe:

when you are on pointe be prepared to get blisters on the front of your toes. I would use the 1/2 or 1/4 inch first aid tape and wrap your toes before the lesson (it really helps). Do not use the gel pads for the inside of your pointe shous - lambs wool is better (they also have some lambs wool that is already shaped for you to put your shoes). Some only need there lambs woolin the tips of there shoes, I used the shaped one where it covere all the tips of my toes (it helped a little with the blisters).

When you get your first pair - make sure you put them on and walk around with them on in your home to help soften them up a little - not too much (so some releves in the also). Also you can bend the arches a little - like stretching your foot/arch) When sewing on the elastic and ribbon make sure the elastic is placed where it can give your the most support. Then you can sew the ribbon on for extra support. Not all persons can have the elastic and ribbon sewn on closer to the back of the shoe (I needed to have mine on closer to the back end of my arch). So play with it. Hope this helps!
Reply:Well, you can start by doing exercises to help your heels go stronger... it helps... i've done it... coz if ur heel is not strong enough, you might sprain your ankle... = )
Reply:Well you shouldn't rushs it, but because you've been dancing for so long I bet you're very close to ready. You can stregthen your ankles with many releves. If you do them on stairs with one foot and the other in coupe it definitely helps. Try to control yourself up, then down. You can also use a theraband.

The arch of the foot doesn't matter so much as the strength of ankles. Usually people with high arches have weaker ankles. But again, if you use a theraband you can work on stretching your ankles.

Alignment is something you need to just work on en flat first.

Pointe definitely sucks though, you should take good care of your feet as best you can. Definitely wear padding like Ouch Pouches (www.bunheads.com)

I'm sure you'll be en pointe in no time. Good Luck!
Reply:to prepare, the first step is find a new kind of dancing. i'd encourage exotic dancing perhaps. you will get all sorts of attention, trust me. its worth it. HOLLA
Reply:I know pointe is very bad for your feet
Reply:Do a lot of plie's and relevels, I really like the grand plie in second then roll up to relevle and repeat a couple of times, do this in fourth too.

See the Podiatrist before being fitted for ballet pointe shoes?

My daughter is being fitted for pointe shoes, her grandmother (an ex pro-dancer) is telling me that her dance instructor was supposed to send her to the Podiatrist (foot doctor). Is this true? ...if so, what is he/she going to say (negative and/or positive) that will be any more educated than the dance teacher that she has had for 6 years? Please help.

See the Podiatrist before being fitted for ballet pointe shoes?
Any responsible podiatrist will tell your daughter not to go en pointe. It's harmful to the feet and legs, and puts unnatural stress on all the weight-bearing joints.

Take your daughter to several dance stores until you find one where they are willing to spend about an hour with her. It's highly unlikely that a first pair of shoes can be found and fitted in less time than that.

I was a dancer myself, and I worked at a dance store, and I have seen what can happen to girls' feet when they wear bad shoes. This is especially true if they are put en pointe too early. Before the age of 13 or so, the growth plates and cartilage can be severely damaged by going en pointe, even if her shoes are perfectly fitted. Many teachers put girls en pointe too early either because they are pressured to by the girls and their parents, or because tiny girls en pointe is sometimes seen as proof of a "very professional" school.

Many dancers have the attitude that pointe is fine and it's just something you have to do to dance. You should remember that it can do permanent, severe damage to your daughter's feet and legs, and since only a tiny percentage of girls go on to dance professionally, most of them have this damage for no reason at all.
Reply:ok go to a ligit dance store and have her try on a bunch of shoes....a podiatrist is not going to be more helpful than a seasoned dancer that owns a store and knows everything about their merchandice...i have been dancing since i was 3 (im almost 16) and it really was a waste of time to go to a podiatrist...but she really shouldnt start pointe untill she is 12 or 13 at the least (she can get really bad back and knee problems because her growth plates havent started closing (i fractured my hip because of that) and muscles and bones havent stopped growing in her feet
Reply:it could be a good idea as he/she can tell you how to protect your feet but ..... her dance teacher is still gonna make her go on pointe even if the foot doctor says no

but as far as i know you dont have to her gran might have hat to as the effects of going en pointe wernt showen so had to tell a foot doctor but as far as i know you dont need to

i think you should just prepare your daughter for pain blisters hard skin and everythong else
Reply:I've never heard abotu sending girls to a pediatrist before they go en pointe. If her teacher thinks she's ready, then she will be fine as long as she gets fitted by someone who really knows what they're doing. They should be able to suggest styles and brands based on her foot shape.
Reply:Well, I'm in pointe and I never went there.

I guess if her grandmother insists you can go, but they probably won't know much at all about pointe, and her ballet teacher should know if her feet are well for pointe or not.
Reply:um well i am a toe dancer and i do not have to go. it may be different at different places though but i did not have to.

My shoes are too big!?

I recently bought a pair of black, closed-toe pumps for a dance that is coming up. 7 1/2 was too small and I knew my toes would hate me by the end of the night so I bought them in size 8, thinking I could stuff the toe or get some sort of insert for them since they are too big. If I leave them how they are, I know I will end up with a sprained ankle or something since my heels slip out when I walk.

Stuffing the toe with toilet paper is kind of uncomfortable, and I haven't been able to find any inserts specifically for making big shoes fit.

Does anybody know of anything that can help my size 8 shoes fit my size 7 3/4 feet?

My shoes are too big!?
I work in the footwear department at K-Mart. We sell foot cushion inserts. Other stores do as well. They should be with the rest of the shoecare (shoelaces, polishes, etc) back in the footwear department.

Foot cushion inserts are small cushions that only cover the area under the ball of your foot. They take up extra space by your toes and also provide cushioning.

You might want to first check the store where you purchased the shoes. Sometimes they provide these inserts for free when you purchase shoes from them.
Reply:Buy an insole - they will take up some space and provide a cushion
Reply:here is an idea get diffrent shoes!!!! Or deal with the small ones it only one nite !!! you would rather look good than be comforable

Reply:i suggest no dress. if you are going to be dancing with anyone of the male species, it can tend ti hike up, which will make you extremely uncomfortable. and you will also be worrying about keeping your dress down, rather than just having a good time!

for shoes, i say wear flats. dances tend to last about 3 hours, so dont wear anything that will kill your feet 20 minutes into it. My suggestion is a pair of nice jeans, maybe some black flats and a blue top of some sort. don't make it too fancy, because i remember at my first dance i went too far and i felt extremely out of place! just wear what is comfortable.

and for makeup, less is always more. a little mascara and some tinted lip gloss should do the trick!

and remember to HAVE FUN!
Reply:definitly wear a aqua and aqua eye shadow if you wear silver and aqua only youll look cute

School dance?!?

School dance?

I have a school semi-formal in about a week and I have a hair-do appointment for 5:00 on the day on the dance! I need to know what to do with my hair because she is squeezing me in so I can't go without knowing what I want!

I have thick-ish brown hair, it is a littlepast my shoulders and it is wavy to curly

I will be wearing a rasberry colored dress and gold shoes/ gold jewlery

any sugestions?

School dance?!?
you've just described my hair! lol at my school dance i had it curled with curling tongs all over and each curl was individually pinned to the back of my head. the hairdresser then went on to create a 'waterfall' effect of curls stemming from the top at the back of my head, with the looser pinned curls draping on to my neck. i had a few strands of hair loose at the front of my hair for a softer finish :)
Reply:i think you should dye it blonde and put raspberry streaks in it (to match the dress. obvi.) or you should just go bald.

Reply:why don't you pick it up half way and then in the pony tale that is half way up you make like a flower type of thing or do something depending on what you are wearing

What kind of shoes should i wear when i go to ball room dancing lessons?

like which kinds of shoes are most comfortable for such an undertaking

What kind of shoes should i wear when i go to ball room dancing lessons?
Ballroom shoes for guys are both very functional and comfortable. They have sueded soles that are very thin, and they're lightweight. Even the heel has a sueded leather bottom. That allows you good traction on the floor so you don't slip and fall on your rear (probably bringing your partner with you). At the same time, there's not too much grip, as you'd get with rubber soles, so you can turn on either the ball or the heel. If you're just starting out, you needn't make the investment at the first, but a leather sole and heel will be much better than anything rubberized, and it's amazing how many shoes these days have some rubber on the bottom. Street shoes are also clunkier, but they'll do for starts.

If you get into it seriously, you may even want some Latin shoes one day, with higher heels, and I promise you they'll be a truly strange experience for you (unless you're a cross-dresser!), but they do have their purpose. That, though, is a subject for a much later date.
Reply:Oh that's exciting..!!! I have been learning ball room dances for about three years..!!!They're really great(especially if you have a partner in mind;)But I totally agree with J..!!!These are the kind of shoes u should have.!
Reply:J is right
Reply:A good pair of jazz shoes will do just fine and Capazio,Bloch, and a number of others make excellant shoes
Reply:Make sure to get the heels that are only about 1/2 an inch. And they're leather with a leather sole. They look something like this.

Should I buy shoes that run big or run small?

My shoe size generally for everyday shoes is 7 but I am comfortable in 6.5s the best when I need a tight fit (as in my ankles won't come out of the shoes/shoes won't come loose when I run around or something). I want to buy these pumps and they only have size 7.5, and I was wondering for pumps, will a 7.5 still withstand a dance floor and not try to come off my feet or should I just resort to buying something more fitting to my feet like a 6.5/7?

Should I buy shoes that run big or run small?
http://alllinthis.blogspot.com

you can get much information in this website, kindly stay a minute in website and check anyone link at a time
Reply:i would suggest buying something more fitting because if your going to be on a dance floor and the shoe are too big especially pumps forget it you'll fall. i would go with getting a shoe that fits just right thts not too big. try dsw.com or famousfootwear.com
Reply:it's more comfortable to wear a loose shoes than a super tight shoes. when u buy a super tight shoes you would not only have red spots or wound on your ankles but you won't be able to walk properly. you won't be able to stand tall.
Reply:You should buy a shoe that fits, shoes that are too small or too big are both bad for your feet in different ways. I definitly wouldn't buy a shoe that's too big and try to dance in it, you could easily sprain your ankle or worse. Get professionally fitted and buy the right size shoes.
Reply:I am a latin dancer, I used to perform. I can say from experience, there is nothing worse than having your shoes slipping off while in the middle of a dance. On the other side, you don't want a shoe that is too tight, you'll have horrible blisters in the morning! Good luck!
Reply:stick to buying your shoe size

In the song Mary Jane Shoes by Fergie, is she singing about marijuana? Or am I just reading too much into it??

Mary Jane is slang for marijuana, so thats why I just was wondering about the true meaning of this song........anyways here are the lyrics:

When I wear - my Mary Jane's shoes

I can escape - from the blues

The whole world seems a little bit brighter, brighter

My heavy steps get a little bit louder, louder

Wooh my Mary Jane's [4x]

When I wear - my Mary Jane's shoes

Just like a child - under bruise

My heart and my soul - they feel like I'm seven

But from my head to my toes

It's like I'm in heaven, heaven

Wooh my Mary Jane's [4x]

When I wear Mary Jane's shoes

I enjoy to spin - the ones and toes

Music has another dimension

And I can dance with another perception

Wooh my Mary Jane's [4x]

In the song Mary Jane Shoes by Fergie, is she singing about marijuana? Or am I just reading too much into it??
I've always wondered..it probably IS about weed! x]

Can you wear shoes while playing on the DDR game Pad?

The Dance Dance Revolution pad is a great game. I was just wondering if anybody knew if you could wear your shoes while playing it or if you have to wear just socks or no socks?

Can you wear shoes while playing on the DDR game Pad?
No, you cannot wear your shoes on the pad, if you do want to wear your shoes on the pad how ever, you can buy a roll of plastic at your local store, and put the plastic over the pad, so that your shoes will not rip the pad. I would just recommend wearing socks while dancing on the pad. You can choose to not wear socks, but wearing socks usually works best. Thanks for your concern, and hope that you have fun dancing!
Reply:You can't wear shoes on a DDR mat for two reasons:

1) It ruins the mat.

2) When you hit it hard or stomp on it it will say tha you missed the arrow even when you didn't.
Reply:No, i wouldn't recommend wearing shoes on a normal, plastic dance pad. Obviously, the hard, blunt force will ruin the pad. playing socks is optional. i prefer wearing socks.

the only way you can wear shoes while playing ddr, is if you play on the arcade pads, OR if you purchase a metal pad like COBALT FLUX. they come at a pricey 300 + shipping and handling though.
Reply:You cannot wear shoes on it because it will rip the pad. You can wear socks if you would like, but you don't have to. I find it better to wear socks so that I don't slip everywhere.

Semi-formal dance..?

i'm going to a semi-formal dance and i have a short light pink dress.. i have both black and white shoes that i could wear with it...which should i wear. also, what jewelry should i wear with it...??

Semi-formal dance..?
I think I'd match it with the white and wear silver accenting jewelry or rhinestones.

The black against the light pink may be too much.

It could be cute with the right accesories such as a black bracelet, black necklace or black gem on the necklace,

the pink with white would be more elegant, the pink with black would be trendy.
Reply:You should wear black shoes and a cute bracelet. I wouldn't wear an ankle bracelet cuz it can distract attention from the shoes, and I wouldn't wear a necklace cuz it will distract from your dress and you want to look sexy and fun, not really dressed up like you are trying to hard. I would say no to the purse too if you are a person that actually dances at the dance. If you are just a person that goes to socialize, then I would bring a black purse (to match the shoes) with some pink accents on it.
Reply:Silver jewelry would go perfectly. A white dress would be nice. That is in celebrity style. Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton and Gwen Stefani have went with a bright shade of pink and white shoes.
Reply:ok, wear black shoes and wear a necklace, an anklet that jingles, and earrings, no bracelet, that is to much...
Reply:I ain't read everybody else's answers... but you should wear black shoes and a black(onyx) jewlerys to accent the shoes... if you can find black and pink jewlery that would be good too... try Claires or Icing they have jewlery
Reply:I guess it would depend on how light of a pink the dress is. I myself would go w/ black shoes, purse and jewelry
Reply:Well if I had to choose between the two I'd go for white (preferably with a little bit of pink in them) because black would just draw the attention away and just not look right, unless the dress was a deeper pink.....light pink is quite a tough colour to work with!

I'd just wear a cute small necklace probably in silver and maybe a thin bangle or linked bracelet. But don't go overboard, keep it understated, especially if your dress is short.
Reply:Go black, and make sure to match your purse to your shoes.
Reply:The white shoes...definitely and for the jewelry maybe white or silver.

Tips for Finding lost Tap Shoes?

I lost my Capezio Mary Jane Carmel Tap shoes. I really need these because I will be doing last years tap dance for a Pageant. I went looking this morning and all I could find was 1 tapshoe from 3 years ago. Any one got any tips on finding my lost shoes?

Pretend you are the jazz shoes... I you were a pair of jazz shoes, where would you be??? Put up a lost sign if you think you lost them outside of ur house.
Reply:Will they still fit you? You don't say if you are of an age where your feet have stopped growing.

You could try whistling the shoemaker's song from Hans Christian Anderson.
Reply:Look for them EVERYWHERE and if you still can't find them, buy some new one's.
Reply:Look in places that you would never think of. If you keep the shoe box's look there too.

Leapord shoes?

do u think brown gouchos would look good with these shoes? or should i just stick with jeans? i always wear them with dark blue jeans but i would like to try to switch it up a little bit...i have black mid-thigh length skirts, denim mini skirts, white shorts, black dressy capris, almost knee length brown skirt and shirts in almost every color...suggestions would be great..thanks in advance :)

p.s its for a date with my boyfriend so i want to look really good and sexy but still classy...i wont be rocking these shoes with daisy dukes and a fishnet bra so none of that please lol. and we arent going anywhere fancy just goin to get some drinks, have some dinner then probably go to a bar to meet up with friends and dance and hang out

Leapord shoes?
really anything would work. just nothing that totally clashes. i would use your own judgement to find what you think works the best. i personally have lepard shoes and I wear tham with anything to bluejeans to gouchos. as long as you dont have any clashing colors or patterns, you should be fine.

wear what you think looks good.

those shoes are HOTT. lol. good choice
Reply:well it depends how you wear your clothing if you wear it good anything would look hot on you. Enjoy your date

What shoes go with skirt and leggings?

My "winter wonderland" school dance is in a few days. I'm not sure what to wear! I was thinking of wearing my denim skirt and brown leggings...but not sure what shoes would go! I have uggs, would they work? Or maybe my gold or white shoes with kitten heels? I wanted to wear ballet flats with them...but I just can't seem to find the perfect pair that actually fit!! It's so annoying.

What shoes go with skirt and leggings?
i'd say flats are the best way to go! but...u said u don't hav any and hav no luck with them? my sister is the same way! however, i think the cutest would be ballet flats with a little bow on the tow...u should get like gold or pink or sumthin...and maybe w/ some gems or glitter on them! good luck...it can be hard finding the perfect fit! but i don't kno....u might not hav time to go shopping b4 the dance...

umm....i think that the uggs would look pretty cute too. many people hav their own opinion on uggs...u either like em or don't like em! i luv em!

also u could try the heels only if u want....just wear whatever is comfortable so u can dance the night away! hope u hav fun and hope i helped!
Reply:u HAVE to wear flats
Reply:I may be a boy, but I have an older sister ... Anyways ...

I think you should wear brown or white ballet flats with a small design or maybe some jeweled flats!
Reply:You are half 80's with that outfit, why not go all the way and wear tennis shoes?
Reply:flats!!
Reply:I think the uggs would look extremly cute!!! You can also try ballet flats from Aeropostale. Heels could work too!!! Hope it helps!!
Reply:try to find black flats with a little bow on the toe they are adorable
Reply:ballet flats or some really cute winter boots (not uggs cause they suck)
Reply:ballerina flats!!!! or pumps if u wanna be a little more sexy....
Reply:flats!
Reply:ballet flats in silver or pink/blue.

do NOT wear kitten heels.

in vogue they have platforms with leggings w/out skirt and with long shirt

Dance...Pointe?

I am a great dancer...I must say. I am very strong in Jazz, Hip-Hop, and any type of fast dance. I kinda practice Ballet at home...but I don't know any techniques. I am starting private lessons (I think), but there is a little thing I am also interested in. Pointe Ballet. I haven't taken ballet for YEARS! I am gaining it back in the private lessons...but I just want to dance in them once. I know the injuries that can happen if you are not experienced in Pointe. I want to try them once. I think they are so cool. Do you think I should get help a bit or try on my own!? I'm anxious! I love the look of ballet. I know I can do it. I want pointe shoes. Should I get them anyways for fun?

Dance...Pointe?
I think you should take a few ballet classes before you do pointe. It's not AS glamorous as it seems. It can take you a few pairs of shoes to find ones that work well with your feet.

I think you are a strong dancer and after a few classes to get yourself acquainted with technique. Please give it a month or two of ballet before you buy pointe.

Definitely do a lot of research first too. Read up on www.dancer.com about proper pointe.

Also you can strengthen your feet for pointe by doing the exercises in this video.

http://www.youtube.com/lisahowell2

Good Luck.
Reply:get help befor anything
Reply:get help first!! if u've taken ballet for so long, then u should be fine to do pointe once u re-strengthen ur ankles and if u work really hard at it every day, u should be safely on pointe in no time! but if u just jump the gun just for fun u could be very hurt and not ever be able to dance again!! so please take those private lessons and ask ur teacher for lots of ankle strengthening excersizes and u'll be fine if u wait till ur teacher gives u the OK.

please wait!

just think- do u want the gift of dance to be taken from u forever?

(didn't think so!)
